WordPress Website Audit

A clear check of your WordPress website’s health, usability and performance

The audit covers your WordPress setup, updates, security, layout, content, mobile experience, basic SEO, speed and obvious issues.

You’ll receive a written report explaining what’s working, what may need attention and the recommended next steps.

Get a fresh, independent view of your website

It can be difficult to judge your own website or know which changes should come first. You may feel that something isn’t quite right without knowing whether the problem is the WordPress setup, layout, content, mobile experience, speed or something else.

The WordPress Website Audit looks over the important parts of your website and explains what was found in clear, straightforward language.

Not sure where to start

You know the website could be improved, but you’re unsure which areas need attention or which changes would be most useful.

The website feels outdated or unclear

The site may no longer reflect the business properly, or visitors may have trouble understanding what you offer.

You’re receiving fewer enquiries than expected

Visitors may be reaching the website without finding the information, reassurance or next step they need.

You want to know what matters most

The audit separates important issues from smaller improvements so you can decide where to focus first.

A detailed review of the key parts of your website

Each area is explained clearly, including what was found, why it matters and what should be considered next.

WordPress core, themes and plugins

WordPress core, the active theme, installed plugins and available updates are checked, along with inactive components, Site Health warnings, the PHP version and available hosting information.

Security and backups

The audit checks whether suitable WordPress security protection and backup arrangements are in place, along with HTTPS, obvious security warnings and other basic website protection settings.

Essential WordPress tools

The audit checks whether suitable SEO, spam protection, caching, performance and image optimisation tools are installed and active. If an important feature appears to be missing, the report may recommend adding a suitable WordPress solution.

Layout and first impression

The overall appearance, page structure, consistency and whether visitors can quickly understand what the website offers.

Mobile experience

Readability, navigation, spacing, buttons, images and obvious display problems affecting visitors using phones or smaller screens.

Content and ease of use

Whether visitors can understand what the business offers, find important information and know what action to take next.

Basic SEO and search visibility

Page titles, descriptions, headings, internal links, indexing and other basic checks that may affect how easily Google can understand the website.

Speed and performance

Each included page is tested on mobile and desktop to identify slow loading, oversized images and other visible performance issues.

Forms, links and obvious errors

Main forms, buttons, phone and email links, missing images, broken links and other obvious issues are checked where possible.

What’s included

Up to 10 key public pages reviewed on desktop and mobile.

WordPress core, themes, plugins, Site Health and important settings checked using temporary administrator access.

Security, backups, SEO, spam protection, caching and performance tools checked.

Clear, prioritised recommendations you can complete yourself or ask DRA Digital to help with.

Frequently asked questions

WordPress Website Audit questions

Do you need access to my website?

Yes. A temporary WordPress administrator account is required so DRA Digital can check WordPress core, themes, plugins, Site Health, security, backups, SEO and other important settings that can’t be confirmed from the public website alone. Please create a separate temporary account rather than sharing your own login. You can delete the temporary account when the audit has been completed.

How many pages are included?

The $149 WordPress Website Audit covers up to 10 key public pages. This will normally include the homepage and the most important service, product, about and contact pages.

Can you audit a WordPress website you didn’t build?

Yes. DRA Digital can audit WordPress websites built by another provider or by the website owner.

What happens if an important WordPress tool is missing?

If suitable security, SEO, backup, spam protection, caching or another important feature appears to be missing, the report will explain why it may be useful and recommend adding an appropriate WordPress solution. The audit won’t promote a particular plugin unless there’s a clear reason to suggest one.

Will you make the recommended changes?

Yes. DRA Digital would be happy to provide a quote to complete the recommended changes, depending on the work required.

Is this a full technical SEO or security audit?

No. Basic SEO, WordPress health and security checks are included, but the service doesn’t include detailed keyword research, competitor research, backlink analysis, malware removal, penetration testing or a complete specialist technical audit.

How long will the audit take?

Your report will normally be sent within 24 to 48 hours after DRA Digital has received the website details, temporary administrator access and any other information needed to begin.

Can I ask questions about the report?

Yes. You can contact DRA Digital if you need clarification about a finding or recommendation included in your report.
